HOW IT HAPPENED
• The game-winning goal came on a 2-on-1 break in the final minute.
Kalli Prekker (JR, Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove HS) gained the puck behind her own net and sent a backhand pass to
Katie Flynn (FY, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS). Flynn sprinted up the right wing, and her shot on-goal was rebounded to Wagner in the slot, who flipped the puck to the net for her 11th goal of the season.
• Augsburg scored the first two goals of the game, before St. Thomas tied the game with goals halfway through the second period and halfway through the third period.
•
Lanie Lobdell (JR, Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley HS) scored the first goal for the Auggies in bizarre fashion 4:53 into the game. Lobdell was bottled up between two St. Thomas defenders in the slot, and one of the Tommies tried to clear the puck, but her pass attempt deflected off of the back of Lobdell's skate blade and went into the net.
Jeanette Bealke (SR, White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) received an assist on the goal.
•
Emily Ach (SR, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center HS) gave the Auggies a 2-0 lead at the 14:27 mark of the first period, scoring a power-play goal in the slot off a feed from below the red line by Flynn. Wagner had the second assist on the goal, Ach's 11th of the season.
• Augsburg outshot St. Thomas by a 29-20 margin.
Abby Bollig (SO, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) had 18 saves to pick up the win in goal.
