WGCA ALL-SCHOLAR TEAM RELEASE
WGCA ALL-AMERICAN SCHOLAR AWARD RELEASE
MINNEAPOLIS – The Augsburg University women's golf program posted a combined 3.839 grade-point average as a team during 2019-20, the second-best grade-point-average in NCAA Division III. The strong academic performance earned the team the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-Scholar Team GPA Award.
The All-Scholar Team GPA Award is designated for WGCA member programs in NCAA Division I, II, III that post their respective levels' top-25 team grade-point averages as well as the top-10 grade-point averages among NAIA programs. Augsburg was the top academic team among Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference squads, and joined Carleton (t-5th), St. Olaf (11th), St. Catherine (13th), and Gustavus (t-22nd) with top-25 academic performances.
Earlier this summer, four members of the Augsburg women's golf program captured the WGCA's All-American Scholar Awards after they met specific playing criteria in addition to posting individual GPAs above 3.50 for the 2019-20 school year. Those honored included:
Emma Kraft (SO, Hutchinson, Minn./Hutchinson HS),
Lilia Lindgren (FY, Elko New Market, Minn./New Prague HS),
Nicole Zielsdorf (JR, Arden Hills, Minn./St. Anthony Village HS) and
Olivia Boe (FY, Stewartville, Minn./Stewartville HS).
