HOW IT HAPPENED
• Claiming his fourth career multi-goal game, Holland fired a wrister from the left half-wall to give the Auggies a 2-0 lead at the 14:52 mark of the opening frame. Austin Martinsen (SR, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) had the first of his three assists in the game. Martinsen and Erik Palmqvist (SO, Linkoping, Sweden/Anderstorpsgymnasiet) assisted on Holland's second goal, a power-play marker 9:34 into the second period. Martinsen fed a point-blank pass to Holland from the left point to the right corner of the net, and Holland slammed the puck home.
• Austin Koss (SO, Huntington Beach, Calif./Huntington Beach HS), who had a goal and two assists, opened the scoring at the 12:20 mark of the first period, collecting a loose puck in the slot and slamming it home. Matt Nehls (SR, Boulder, Colo./D.C. West HS) assisted on the goal.
• Augsburg scored four goals in the third period to seal the victory, with two newcomers notching their first collegiate goals -- Tommy Carls (FY, Coon Rapids, Minn./Centennial HS) and Logan Kons (FY, Niles, Ill./Niles West HS). Carls scored 18 seconds into a power play, assisted by Martinsen and Palmqvist, and Kons notched his goal on the power play halfway through the frame, assisted by Grant Reichenbacher (SO, Verona, Wis./Madison Edgewood HS).
• Charlie Parker (SR, Verona, Wis./Verona HS) scored his first goal of the season at the 11:25 mark of the third, finishing a 3-on-2 break from Michael Redmon (SO, West Bloomfield, Mich./Centennial (Tenn.) HS) and Koss.
