ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Augsburg University volleyball team fell in straight sets to St. Catherine University in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• St. Catherine held all of the momentum through the first two sets, never trailing Augsburg. The Auggies took an early lead in the third set and were up 13-11, until the Wildcats went on an eight-point run to take a 19-14 lead. Augsburg narrowed the deficit to three points, but was unable to mount a comeback, dropping the third and final set. St. Catherine held a .269-to-.215 hitting advantage over Augsburg.
• Leading the Auggies offensively was
Kevin Boysen (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS), who finished with 11 kills -- hitting at a .333 clip -- and had two block assists.
Jade Fullerton (SR, Arden Hills, Minn./Mounds View HS) collected seven kills and three blocks (one solo).

Kayla Gjerde (SR, Afton, Minn./Stillwater HS) and
Maddie Nierengarten (SR, Foley, Minn./Princeton HS) both finished with five kills. Gjerde added nine digs, while Nierengarten had seven digs.
• Also finishing with five kills was
Lexie Lang (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS). Lang earned her 13th double-double of the year with 29 assists and 10 digs.

Angel Khang (SO, Maplewood, Minn./North St. Paul HS) had 11 digs and two service aces.
Georgia Paul (FY, Fargo, N.D./Fargo North HS) earned her career-best dig effort with nine.
Emily Kaup (FY, Omaha, Neb./Duchesne Academy HS) had two kills, two digs and a block assist.
FOR THE FOES
• Lexie Petrick had 11 kills to lead the Wildcats, adding 10 digs and an ace.
• Marissa Gilbertson finished with 36 assists. Lauren Isaacson had team-high 17 digs.
