AUGSBURG INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
FOREST CITY, Iowa -- The Augsburg University women's wrestling team claimed two individual titles and two runner-up finishes at the Waldorf University Open, held on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Marlynne Deede (JR, Springville, Utah/Springville HS), ranked No. 4 in the National Wrestling Coaches Association preseason national rankings at 155 pounds, dominated her weight class to improve to 6-1 on the season. She claimed three technical fall victories, including a 10-0 win in the title match, while recording a first-period pin in the semifinals. She now has five technical falls and a pin among her six wins this season.

Nina Makem (FY, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) also had a dominant effort in winning the 136-pound title, opening with a 29-second pin and then claiming three 10-0 technical falls, including a 4:46, 10-0 win over Andrea Schalbach of Grand View (Iowa), the No. 3-ranked NAIA wrestler in the weight class, in the title match. Makem is now 7-2 on the season.

Charlotte Kouyoumtjian (FY, Porterville, Calif./Monache HS) finished second at 130 pounds, going 3-1 on the day with two technical falls and a second-period pin in the semifinals, to move to 6-4 on the season.
• Seeing her first action of the season,
Faith Tuttle (JR, North St. Paul, Minn./North St. Paul HS), the No. 7-ranked 170-pounder nationally, moved up to 191 and went 3-1 to finish second, with two pins and an 11-0 technical fall en route to the finals.

Gabby Skidmore (JR, Spooner, Wis./Cumberland HS), ranked No. 2 at 130 pounds, competed for the second straight week at 123, going 4-1 to finish third. She had two sub-40-second pins and two technical falls on the day, improving to 8-2 on the season.

Savannah Vold (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) went 4-2 on the day, with a 16-6 technical fall win in her last match, to place fifth at 130.Â

Destynie Pacheco (JR, El Paso, Texas/Pebble Hills HS) finished sixth on the day at 170, as didÂ
Melissa Jacobs (JR, Belle Plaine, Minn./Belle Plaine HS (Scott West)) at 191.
