MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University women's hockey team held a 3-1 lead late in the second period, but the No. 4-ranked University of Wisconsin-River Falls scored four of the next five goals, including the game-winner 1:33 into overtime, in a 5-4 decision on Thursday evening at Ed Saugestad Rink.

Kensie Malone (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./Gentry Academy HS) opened the scoring for Augsburg with an unassisted goal, and a pair of power-play goals by
Lilia Scheid (SR, Stillwater, Minn./Middleton (Wis.) HS) and
Katie Flynn (JR, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS) gave the Auggies a 3-1 lead 2:26 into the second period.
• UW-River Falls tied the game with a power-play goal late in the second period and a shorthanded goal in the third, but Augsburg took a 4-3 lead at the 9:02 mark, as
Hannah Gold (SR, Mequon, Wis./University School of Milwaukee) scored on a shot that tucked inside the crossbar. The shot was first ruled not a goal, but was changed after a discussion by the referees.
• But UW-River Falls tied the intense game midway through the third period, and scored 93 seconds into the 3-on-3 overtime session.
• The game was a hard-fought, physical affair, with each team whistled for seven penalties for 14 minutes. Both teams went 2-for-7 on power-play opportunities, with UW-River Falls adding a shorthanded goal.
• The Falcons outshot the Auggies by a 34-20 margin in the game.
Kennedy Stein (SO, Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest HS) had five shots on-goal for Augsburg.

Chloe Stockinger (SO, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) had 29 saves in goal for the Auggies.

• Abigail Stow scored a power-play goal in the second period, and scored the game-winner at the 1:33 mark of overtime. Alex Hantge, Erin Olson and Alyson Niebur had the other Falcon goals.
• Sami Miller had 16 saves in goal for UW-River Falls.
