DULUTH, Minn. – Fueled by the fourth straight double-double from
Jen Masello (SR, Darien, Ill./Downers Grove South HS), the Augsburg University women's basketball team earned a dominant 82-55 road win over St. Scholastica on Wednesday evening to stay undefeated in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Auggies were dominant from the jump, making the first eight baskets of the game and jumping out to an early 19-0 lead at the 4:41 mark of the first quarter. That momentum carried through the quarter as Augsburg held a 30-7 lead heading into the second.
• The Saints bounced back in the second quarter, outscoring the Auggies 14-13 to make it a 43-21 game in favor of Augsburg at the half.
• Augsburg found a groove again in the third quarter as they would outscore the Saints 25-15 to push the lead all they way to 32 at the end of three. The Saints edged the Auggies 19-14 in the final frame as Augsburg cruised to the 27-point victory.
• The Auggies were the stronger team in nearly every statistical category as they outshot the Saints 41.3% to 37.9% and outscored them 24-10 off of turnovers, 24-10 in second-chance points, and 46-26 in the paint.
• Masello was the leader for the Auggies once again as she notched her fourth consecutive double-double with 23 points on nine-of-17 shooting to go along with 10 rebounds, four assists, three steals, and two blocks.

Anja Smith (SO, Kewaskum, Wis./Saint Mary's Springs HS) tied her career-high and had her best game of the season with 18 points on eight-of-17 shooting from the floor, also contributing five rebounds and two steals.

Kalena Myers (SO, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) recorded a season-high 16 points and was a perfect six-of-six from the field in the game. She also contributed six steals, three assists, and a rebound in the game.

Jaley Coplin (JR, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) and
Selena Lor (SR, Winona, Minn./Winona HS) added eight and seven points for the Auggies, respectively.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Following Wednesday's game, Masello ranks first in the
MIAC overall statistics rankings with 11.0 rebounds per-game and also sits fourth with 16.0 points per-game.
• The game marked the 16th matchup between the two teams all-time with Augsburg holding a 10-6 advantage in the series, including winning the last nine in a row.
FOR THE FOES
• Miranda Broberg was the scoring leader for the Saints with 13 points on four-of-12 shooting.
