STEVENS POINT, Wis. -- Behind a pair of goals each from
Jenna Gerold (JR, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) and
Kensie Malone (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./Gentry Academy HS), the Augsburg University women's hockey team claimed its third straight victory, a 6-2 win at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Gerold claimed her third career multi-goal game, scoring twice in a 1:18 span midway through the second period to give the Auggies a 3-1 lead. She scored a power-play goal from
Katie Flynn (JR, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS) at the 8:28 mark, then scored at the 9:46 mark from
Carleigh Drill (JR, Madison, Wis./Madison East HS) and
Payton Allen (JR, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS).
• Malone scored two special-teams goals in the third period -- scoring an unassisted, shorthanded goal at the 4:01 mark, and capping the scoring with a power-play goal from
Brooke Leone (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) midway through the final frame. The two-goal effort marked her first career multi-goal game.
• The Pointers opened the game with a goal 29 seconds into play, but Augsburg struck back with five straight goals. Flynn tied the game at 1-1 with a goal from
Claire Jenkins Coffman (SO, Mount Pleasant, Wis./The Prairie School) at the 1:12 mark of the second period, and
Emily Cronkhite (FY, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) scored her team-leading seventh goal of the game 6:42 into the third period, assisted by Leone and Allen.
• Augsburg outshot UW-Stevens Point by a 42-31 margin -- its ninth straight game with 25-plus shots on-goal.
Chloe Stockinger (SO, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) improved to 2-2-1 on the season wtih a 29-save effort in goal.
• Flynn had seven shots on-goal, while Cronkhite and Gerold had five shots each.
FOR THE FOES
• Nicole Neuberger and Courtney Leising scored goals for UW-Stevens Point.
• Olivia Schultz had 36 saves in goal for the Pointers.
