Women's lacrosse falls short against Falcons

MINNEAPOLIS -- The University of Wisconsin-River Falls women's lacrosse team scored the first seven goals of the game and never looked back, claiming a 19-6 win over host Augsburg University in a nonconference game on Tuesday afternoon at Edor Nelson Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• UW-River Falls outshot Augsburg by a 24-5 margin in the first half, building a 13-2 advantage. The Falcons eventually outshot the Auggies by a 38-19 margin in the game.
• Mikayla Knudson (SR, Zimmerman, Minn./Elk River HS) scored two goals with four ground balls, three draw controls and three caused turnovers for the Auggies.
• Annika Hegrenes (SR, Maplewood, Minn./Concordia Academy HS) also scored two goals, adding three draw controls, two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
• Allie Tuccitto (SR, Rosemount, Minn./Eastview HS) scored a goal with a ground ball and caused turnover, and Maylynn Prokopec (FY, Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna HS) scored a goal with an assist, adding two draw controls.
• Annabelle Arns (JR, Monticello, Minn./Monticello HS) had four draw controls in the game, while Tehya Reinbold (SR, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) had three caused turnovers and two daw controls.
• Goalie Maddie Seykora (SR, Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna HS) had 10 saves, along with three ground balls and two caused turnovers.

FOR THE FOES
• Emily Herdine scored four goals, Emma Kohlbeck and Emma Heerey each scored three goals with an assist, and Josie Johnson scored two goals with two assists.
• Grace Ross had seven saves in goals for the Falcons.
