MONMOUTH, Ill. -- Behind career highs of five goals each by
Megan Furlong (SR, Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) and
Tehya Reinbold (SR, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS), and a career-high 14 draw controls by
Annika Hegrenes (SR, Maplewood, Minn./Concordia Academy HS), the Augsburg University women's lacrosse team opened Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference play with an 18-12 win at Monmouth College on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Leading 5-3 after the first 10 minutes of play, Augsburg scored five straight goals over a 7:14 span to take a 10-3 lead. Augsburg led 13-6 at halftime and maintained in control the rest of the way. The Auggies outshot the Scots by a 33-30 margin and had 20 draw controls to Monmouth's 11. Both teams had 17 ground balls in the game.
• Furlong set career bests with her five goals and five points, while Reinbold tied her career best in points, while setting a career high in goals. She also had two ground balls and a caused turnover.
• Hegrenes' 14 draw controls are the third-most in a single game in Augsburg women's lacrosse history, behind the school record of 15, set twice by
Christina Nelson '19. Hegrenes also had two assists and a ground ball in the victory.

Mikayla Knudson (SR, Zimmerman, Minn./Elk River HS) scored three goals with an assist, three ground balls, three draw controls and two caused turnover, and
Allie Tuccitto (SR, Rosemount, Minn./Eastview HS) scored three goals with a draw control.

Maylynn Prokopec (FY, Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna HS) scored two goals with a ground ball and a caused turnover.

Annabelle Arns (JR, Monticello, Minn./Monticello HS) collected three ground balls and two draw controls, while adding three caused turnovers.

Maddie Seykora (SR, Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna HS) had 12 saves, adding six ground balls and a caused turnover.
FOR THE FOES
• Madison Meldrum scored seven goals with a ground ball and three caused turnovers to lead Monmouth, while Mackenzie Holmes scored three goals with an assist.
• Olivia Matlock had nine saves in goal, adding three ground balls and a caused turnover.
