Men's basketball game vs Saint Mary's canceled

MINNEAPOLIS – Monday night's (1/10) Augsburg University home men's basketball game against Saint Mary's University has been CANCELED due to COVID-19 roster-related issues within the Saint Mary's program, and will be declared a conference forfeit for Augsburg.

According to the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's winter COVID-19 competition plan, any contest that is unable to be completed due to COVID-19 roster-related issues on the assigned date will automatically be considered a forfeit in the conference standings. This plan was approved by the MIAC President's Council in October.

Augsburg is credited with a 2-0 victory in the MIAC standings. The forfeit only affects MIAC standings
, and is considered by the NCAA as a "no-contest". Institutions can mutually agree to make the contest up as a non-conference contest.

Augsburg is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday (1/12) at 7:15 p.m., hosting Concordia-Moorhead at Si Melby Hall.

Monday's JV game between Augsburg and North Central is still scheduled for a 5 p.m. start at Si Melby Hall.
