HOW IT HAPPENED
• Payton Allen (JR, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) put the Auggies on the board first, scoring on a shot from the left point through traffic at the 5:21 mark of the opening frame. Claire Jenkins Coffman (SO, Mount Pleasant, Wis./The Prairie School) and Carleigh Drill (JR, Madison, Wis./Madison East HS) assisted on the goal.
• The Auggies made it a 2-0 game on a nifty cross-slot feed from Brooke Leone (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) to Kennedy Stein (SO, Lake Forest, Minn./Lake Forest HS), following a steal by Katie Flynn (JR, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS), at the 11:05 mark. Stein notched her seventh goal of the season.
• Dorothy Kearney (FY, Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) scored at the 18:17 mark on a rebound off of a shot by Julianna Teske (SO, Reedsburg, Wis./Warroad (Minn.) HS), with Lindsey Trotter (SR, Fargo, N.D./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) getting the second assist.
• St. Olaf cut the lead to 3-2 with a pair of goals in a three-minute span midway through the second period, but Augsburg scored three goals in the third period to claim the convincing win. Lilia Scheid (SR, Stillwater, Minn./Middleton (Wis.) HS) gained a loose puck at the attacking blue line and sprinted in for an unassisted goal 5:42 into the period, and Jenna Gerold (JR, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) gained the puck in her own zone and went end-to-end for an unassisted goal at the 12:03 mark.
• Leone capped the scoring for the Auggies with a goal with 1:12 left in the game, snapping a shot from between the face-off circles off assists by Flynn and Drill.
• Augsburg recorded a season-high 43 shots on-goal, outshooting the Oles by a 43-15 margin.
• Chloe Stockinger (SO, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) had 13 saves in goal to improve to 6-2-1 on the season.
