MINNEAPOLIS – Scoring three goals in the first period and three goals in the third period, the Augsburg University women's hockey team claimed a 6-2 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory over St. Olaf College on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Payton Allen (JR, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) put the Auggies on the board first, scoring on a shot from the left point through traffic at the 5:21 mark of the opening frame.
Claire Jenkins Coffman (SO, Mount Pleasant, Wis./The Prairie School) and
Carleigh Drill (JR, Madison, Wis./Madison East HS) assisted on the goal.
• The Auggies made it a 2-0 game on a nifty cross-slot feed from
Brooke Leone (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) to
Kennedy Stein (SO, Lake Forest, Minn./Lake Forest HS), following a steal by
Katie Flynn (JR, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS), at the 11:05 mark. Stein notched her seventh goal of the season.

Dorothy Kearney (FY, Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) scored at the 18:17 mark on a rebound off of a shot by
Julianna Teske (SO, Reedsburg, Wis./Warroad (Minn.) HS), with
Lindsey Trotter (SR, Fargo, N.D./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) getting the second assist.
• St. Olaf cut the lead to 3-2 with a pair of goals in a three-minute span midway through the second period, but Augsburg scored three goals in the third period to claim the convincing win.
Lilia Scheid (SR, Stillwater, Minn./Middleton (Wis.) HS) gained a loose puck at the attacking blue line and sprinted in for an unassisted goal 5:42 into the period, and
Jenna Gerold (JR, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) gained the puck in her own zone and went end-to-end for an unassisted goal at the 12:03 mark.
• Leone capped the scoring for the Auggies with a goal with 1:12 left in the game, snapping a shot from between the face-off circles off assists by Flynn and Drill.
• Augsburg recorded a season-high 43 shots on-goal, outshooting the Oles by a 43-15 margin.

Chloe Stockinger (SO, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) had 13 saves in goal to improve to 6-2-1 on the season.
FOR THE FOES
• Heather Sager and Iona Welsch scored second-period goals for St. Olaf.
• Ivy Shonka had 32 saves in 52 minutes, with Grace Boswell-Healy recording five saves in relief.
