NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Augsburg University women's basketball team dropped its first Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest of the season and saw its 13-game winning streak snapped on Saturday afternoon, falling 59-49 to Carleton College at West Gym.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The two teams matched each other blow for blow through most of the opening quarter, with Augsburg holding a narrow 15-14 advantage at the end of the first. The second quarter was an extremely low scoring affair with the Auggies outscoring the Knights 9-4 to take a six-point lead into halftime.
• Carleton fought back in the third quarter, tying the game again up less than three minutes in. The game remained extremely tight throughout the third, with each team knotted up at 36 heading into the fourth. The Knights began to distance themselves down the stretch, using a 19-7 run in the final eight minutes to seal the win.

Jen Masello (SR, Darien, Ill./Downers Grove South HS) recorded her seventh double-double of the season and led the Auggies with 13 points, 16 rebounds, three assists, three blocks, and a steal in the game.

Anja Smith (SO, Kewaskum, Wis./Saint Mary's Springs HS) came within two rebounds of another double-double, posting 11 points and eight rebounds.
Jaley Coplin (JR, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) tallied 10 points, four rebounds, two assists, a block, and a steal.

Selena Lor (SR, Winona, Minn./Winona HS) and
Kalena Myers (SO, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) finished with six and five points, respectively.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Following the game, both Masello and Smith rank within the top five in several categories of the
MIAC overall statistics rankings. Masello ranks third in points per-game (15.2) and second in rebounds per-game (9.5) while Smith ranks second in points per-game (15.8) and field goal percentage (51.0%). Coplin currently sits fourth in the conference with a three-point field goal percentage of 39.8%.
FOR THE FOES
• Jasmine Choi led the Knights with 19 points and 15 rebounds while Emma Henry added 15 points and three rebounds.
