Women's basketball game vs. St. Catherine canceled

MINNEAPOLIS -- Wednesday night's (1/5) Augsburg University home women's basketball game against St. Catherine University has been CANCELED due to COVID-19 roster-related issues within the St. Catherine program, and will be declared a conference forfeit for Augsburg.

According to the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's winter COVID-19 competition plan, any contest that is unable to be completed due to COVID-19 roster-related issues on the assigned date will automatically be considered a forfeit in the conference standings. This plan was approved by the MIAC President's Council in October.

Augsburg is credited with a 2-0 victory in the MIAC standings.
The forfeit only affects MIAC standings, and is considered by the NCAA as a "no-contest". Institutions can mutually agree to make the contest up as a non-conference contest.

Augsburg is scheduled to return to action on Saturday (1/8) at 1 p.m., hosting Macalester at Si Melby Hall.
