Auggie women fall 3-1 to Gusties

MINNEAPOLIS – Clara Fesemyer (SO, Madison, Wis./Madison East HS) scored her first collegiate goal in the 81st minute for Augsburg University, but the Auggies dropped a 3-1 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer decision to Gustavus Adolphus College on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Playing in her 20th collegiate game, Fesemyer claimed her first collegiate goal at the 80:23 mark, scoring on a shot from 15 yards out off a forward feed by Jayla Ponce (SO, Kuna, Idaho/Kuna HS). The assist gave Ponce a team-best 17 points (five goals, seven assists) on the season.
• Gustavus scored two goals in a 3:52 span early in the second half off of Auggie turnovers, then added another goal off a corner kick in the 65th minute.
• Augsburg outshot Gustavus by a 16-14 margin, with both teams recording seven shots on-goal. 
• Jennifer Bobaric (SR, Andover, Minn./Andover HS) had five shots in the game, while Allison Hookom (FY, Andover, Minn./Anoka HS) had three shots, two on-target.
• Iz Shuster (JR, Waconia, Minn./Waconia HS) had four saves in goal.

FOR THE FOES
• Molly Waters scored a goal with an assist for the Gusties, with Cambelle Waldspurger and Elin Swenson also scoring goals.
• Abby Goodno had six saves in goal for Gustavus.
