TOURNAMENT RESULTS

Avery Sawchuk (JR, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) broke the Augsburg University program record for a 54-hole score with a 242 total, leading the Auggies at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championships, held Saturday to Monday at Bunker Hills Golf Club.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Sawchuk finished in a tie for 17th place in the 49-golfer field with a three-day total of 242 (80-82-80), breaking the old 54-hole school record of 250, set by Stefani Zappa at the 2009 and 2010 MIAC meet, and by
Emma Kraft at the 2020-21 conference meet. Her first- and third-round 80s are tied for the second-best individual rounds by an Auggie in conference meet competition, with Zappa's third-round 78 in 2009 the school-best. Sawchuk improved her overall finish from last year's 26th-place mark.
• Competing in her second league meet,
Elizabeth Fagerlind (SO, Kasson, Minn./Kasson-Mantorville HS) finished in 32nd place with a 257 (81-87-89) total, a six-place improvement from last year's 38th-place finish.

Maren Aikens (SO, Rochester, Minn./John Marshall HS) finished with a total of 264 (90-86-88) to place 40th.

Claire Jenkins Coffman (JR, Mount Pleasant, Wis./The Prairie School) scored 308 (105-105-98) to place 49th.
• As a team, Augsburg finished in 10th place with a three-day total of 1,071 (356-360-355), its best-ever team 54-hole tournament score, bettering its score of 1,076 (361-364-351) at the 2012 MIAC Championships.
