Men's basketball falls to Blue Devils

MENOMONIE, Wis. – The Augsburg University men's basketball team crossed the border into Wisconsin for a nonconference matchup against the University of Wisconsin-Stout on Saturday afternoon, falling 78-58 to the Blue Devils.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Blue Devils carried most of the momentum early in the game, working their way out to a double-digit lead near the midpoint of the first half. The lead would grow to as many as 15 before the Auggies cut it back down to 10 before heading to the locker room at halftime.
• The Auggies managed to cut the deficit to six on three separate occasions early in the second half, but the Blue Devils outscored them 26-15 over the final 10 minutes of the game and expanded their lead to as many as 22 on their way to the 20-point victory.
Carson Kolles (FY, Monticello, Minn.) checked in as the scoring leader for Augsburg with a career-high 12 points off the bench to go along with four rebounds and two steals. Will Blascziek (So, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North HS) also hit double figures in scoring with 10 points and two rebounds.
Colin Meade (JR, Rochester, Minn./Lourdes HS) recorded a career-high 10 rebounds, also adding six points and a steal. Kayser Hasaan (FY, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS) was third on the team with eight points while Isaac Rabaey (SO, Hastings, Minn.) and Caden Scales (JR, Richfield, Minn./Eastview HS) added seven points each from the bench.
• Augsburg edged UW-Stout 12-9 in second-chance points and had the stronger bench performance with 29 points to the Blue Devils' 21.

FOR THE FOES
• Brody Fox led all scorers with 25 points while Aidan Shore and Carson Moe added 14 and 10 points for the Blue Devils, respectively.

• The Auggies will host the University of Minnesota Morris at Si Melby Hall on Monday (11/28) at 7 pm.
