MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Augsburg University women's basketball team wrapped up the regular season on Wednesday evening with a 70-59 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory over Concordia-Moorhead at Memorial Auditorium.

THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Augsburg 70, Concordia-Moorhead 59
LOCATION: Memorial Auditorium, Moorhead, Minn.
RECORDS: Augsburg 19-5 overall (19-2 MIAC), Concordia-Moorhead 7-15 overall (7-13 MIAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
• After falling into a 5-0 hole early in the game, the Auggie offense found a spark and went on a 23-4 scoring run through the rest of the quarter to give themselves a 14-point advantage at the end of one. The second quarter was much tighter, but Augsburg still outscored the Cobbers 15-14 to take a 38-23 lead into the locker room at halftime.
• The Cobbers brought the game within reach late in the third, making it just a four-point game with just over a minute remaining in the quarter. The Auggies quickly regained control of the game, however, using a 9-0 scoring run that spanned the end of the third and the opening minutes of the fourth to put themselves up by 13. That lead never dropped below eight points for the remainder of the game as the Auggies capped off their MIAC Championship season with their fourth win in a row.
Anja Smith (SO, Kewaskum, Wis./Saint Mary's Springs HS) was dominant for Augsburg, scoring 24 on seven-of-13 shooting and five-of-six from deep. She also grabbed three rebounds and five steals in the game.
 • Jen Masello (SR, Darien, Ill./Downers Grove South HS) notched her 11th career double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, also adding four steals, two blocks, and an assist.
• Jaley Coplin (JR, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) also scored 12 with a rebound and a steal. Selena Lor (SR, Winona, Minn./Winona HS) added six points and six boards for the Auggies.
•  Augsburg won the battle in the paint by a margin of 22-18 and dominated in bench points 29-14, with 24 coming from Smith alone.
