Auggie women have strong effort at UW-Eau Claire

TOURNAMENT RESULTS

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. -- Behind an eighth-place individual finish by Elizabeth Fagerlind (SO, Kasson, Minn./Kasson-Mantorville HS), the Augsburg University women's golf team had a strong weekend at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Georgianni-Blugold Invitational, held on Saturday and Sunday.

LOCATION: Wild Rose GC, Eau Claire, Wis. (Par 72, 5,707 yards); Eau Claire Golf and CC, Eau Claire, Wis. (Par 71, 5,562 yards)

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Fagerlind finished in eighth place in the 59-player field with the second-best 36-hole score of her collegiate career, shooting 166 (83-83). Her 166 score is tied for the 14th-best 36-hole score in Augsburg women's golf history.
Maren Aikens (SO, Rochester, Minn./John Marshall HS) finished in a tie for 21st place with a two-day total of 172 (85-87), the third-best 36-hole score of her college career.
• Avery Sawchuk (JR, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) finished in a tie for 30th place, shooting 176 (84-92).
• Claire Jenkins Coffman (JR, Mount Pleasant, Wis./The Prairie School) rounded out the Auggie lineup with a 241 (120-121) total, finishing 56th.

• Augsburg competes next weekend at the Gustavus Adolphus College Division III Classic, to be held at the Emerald Greens Golf Course in Hastings, Minn.
