Sawchuk's 158 leads Auggies at D-III Classic

HASTINGS, Minn. -- Avery Sawchuk (JR, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) completed the second-best 36-hole individual score in Augsburg University women's golf history, shooting a two-day total of 158 to lead the Auggies at the Gustavus Adolphus College Division III Classic, held on Saturday and Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Sawchuk followed up a first-round 83 on Saturday with a second-round 75 on Sunday to finish in a tie for 27th place in the 109-player field with a 158 total, the second-best 36-hole score in Augsburg history. Emma Kraft holds the school record with a 154 (73-81) score, set last season. Sawchuk's second-round 75 is the third-best 18-hole score in school history, behind a school-record 72 set by Marisa Navarro in 2005 and Kraft's 73 set last year.
•  As a team, Augsburg finished in 17th place with a 707 (372-335) total, the eighth-best 36-hole team score in program history, with its second-round 335 the seventh-best single round in school history.
• Elizabeth Fagerlind (SO, Kasson, Minn./Kasson-Mantorville HS) also had a strong weekend, finishing in a tie for 47th place with a 164 (83-81) total, tied for the 14th-best 36-hole score in school history.
• Maren Aikens (SO, Rochester, Minn./John Marshall HS) scored 178 (97-81) to finish 91st, with her second-round 81 tying her collegiate career-best low round.
• Claire Jenkins Coffman (JR, Mount Pleasant, Wis./The Prairie School) finished 106th with a collegiate-best 207 (109-98) score, with her second-round 98 a career-best single round.
