Pair of quick goals rally Auggies to win

DULUTH, Minn. -- A pair of goals 52 seconds apart in the second half gave Augsburg University a 2-1, come-from-behind victory at the College of St. Scholastica in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer game on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Saints took the lead on a goal in the 40th minute, but 12 minutes into the second half, Augsburg tied the game at 1-1, as Jayla Ponce (SO, Kuna, Idaho/Kuna HS) scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season. Her five goals are now tied for second-most among MIAC players in overall statistics.
• Fifty-two seconds later, Alanna Franklin (SO, St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park HS) gave the Auggies the lead, scoring her fourth goal of the campaign at the 58:39 mark. Her four goals are now tied for fourth-most in the MIAC.
• Augsburg outshot St. Scholastica by an 18-10 margin in the game, including a 10-6 advantage in the second half. Ponce had seven shots in the game, including four on-frame, while Jennifer Bobaric (SR, Andover, Minn./Andover HS) had four shots and Rudolph had three.
• Goalkeeper Iz Shuster (JR, Waconia, Minn./Waconia HS) had two saves to pick up the victory.
