Sawchuk shines again to lead Auggies

TOURNAMENT RESULTS

STILLWATER, Minn. -- Avery Sawchuk (JR, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) etched another spot in the Augsburg University women's golf record book, tying for 19th place in a competitive individual race at the St. Catherine University Invitational, held on Saturday and Sunday.

LOCATION: Oak Glen GC, Stillwater, Minn. (Par 72, 5,862 yards); Eagle Valley GC, Stillwater, Minn. (Par 72, 5,802 yards)

HOW IT HAPPENED
• For the second straight week, Sawchuk posted a 36-hole score that put her among the top five results in school history. Her two-round total of 160 (77-83) is tied for the fifth-best 36-hole score, while her 158 shot last week is the second-best. She finished in a tie for 19th in the 83-player field.
• Elizabeth Fagerlind (SO, Kasson, Minn./Kasson-Mantorville HS) shot 171 (85-86) to tie for 53rd in the field. Maren Aikens (SO, Rochester, Minn./John Marshall HS) finished with a total of 174 (87-87) to tie for 58th.
• Claire Jenkins Coffman (JR, Mount Pleasant, Wis./The Prairie School) shot 226 (115-111).
• As a team, Augsburg finished in 14th place with a 731 (364-367) total.

UP NEXT
• Augsburg finishes the fall portion of the 2022-23 schedule next Saturday to Monday (10/1-3) at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships, held at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids, Minn.
