Augsburg opens season at Saint Ben's Invite

TOURNAMENT RESULTS

SARTELL, Minn. -- Avery Sawchuk (JR, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) and Elizabeth Fagerlind (SO, Kasson, Minn./Kasson-Mantorville HS) both finished in the top 31 overall, leading the Augsburg University women's golf team in its season-opening tournament, the College of Saint Benedict Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.

LOCATION: Blackberry Ridge GC, Sartell, Minn. (Par 72, 5,812 yards)

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Sawchuk finished with a 36-hole total of 171 (90-81), tying for 28th place in the 80-golfer field, while Fagerlind finished in a tie for 31st place with a 172 (87-85) total.
• As a team, Augsburg finished 13th in the 11-school, 13-team event with a 771 total.
• Maren Aikens (SO, Rochester, Minn./John Marshall HS) shot 189 (97-92) to finish 69th, and Claire Jenkins Coffman (JR, Mount Pleasant, Wis./The Prairie School) shot 239 (116-123) to finish 79th.

UP NEXT
• Augsburg will compete at the Wisconsin-Eau Claire Invitational next Saturday and Sunday (9/10-11).
