QUOTES FROM AUGSBURG HEAD COACH GREG HOLKER
• "Congratulations to Macalester and we wish them well in the semifinals on Thursday. We enjoy playing them -- it's always competitive and when it's over, it's over and the teams can shake hands and respect each other's effort. That's a good, young MAC team -- one of the best I have seen in a while."
• "To lose a game on two set pieces was probably pretty appropriate for our season. We ended up negative-four on set pieces for the year, and of the 21 goals we conceded this season 13 were from dead balls. That's just hard to overcome."
• "I thought our soccer was good today. We moved the ball to move the opponent well, interchanged fluently and created several high quality chances from our play. We did well in transition defensively to deal with their counters, and I thought overall our position behind the ball was improved from Friday's game."
• "We learned some things as well, and have a few takeaways that will stick with us in the next few months before we start training again in January. Those things are correctable, and we have a really solid group of young players in our team (and coming up from reserve positions) so there is a lot to look forward to for Augsburg soccer."
• "As is always the case, the last game is hardest on those players that won't return. Today was no different, and I have to express how grateful and proud I am to have had the chance to work with these guys for the past 4-5 years. Their maturity, sense of purpose, and commitment to the program are unheralded. Their soccer was so fun to watch over the years, and they have definitely left the program in better place."
