NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Suffering just its second setback of the season, the Augsburg University women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Carleton College in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• After a scoreless first half, the Knights struck first with a goal in the 72
nd minute to take a 1-0 lead. Augsburg did not take long to respond, tying the game 1-1 when
Jayla Ponce (SR, Kuna, Idaho/Kuna HS) scored her fifth goal of the season in the 75
th minute.
• Unfortunately for the Auggies, the tie proved to be short lived as the Knights scored the eventual game-winner less than five minutes later in the 80
th minute on a penalty kick.
• The Knights held a distinct advantage in shots, taking 16 to Augsburg's four. Auggie goalkeeper
Iz Shuster (SR, Waconia, Minn./Waconia HS) made four saves compared to just one save for the Knights' keeper.

Ponce and Abby Rosebur (SO, South St. Paul, Minn./South St. Paul HS) were the only Auggies to record a shot on goal, while
McKenna Nachreiner (FY, Waunakee, Wis./Waunakee HS) took the other two shots for Augsburg.

• Claire Burbery and Piper Dean scored goals for the Knights with Kathryn Kresse adding an assist on the first goal.
