NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Augsburg University women's soccer team's season came to an end with a 3-0 loss at top-seed Carleton College in the semifinal round of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference postseason playoffs on Thursday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• MIAC regular-season champion Carleton controlled possession throughout the match, outshooting the Auggies by an 18-2 margin -- with Augsburg's two shots coming in the final six minutes of play.
• Goalkeeper
Iz Shuster (SR, Waconia, Minn./Waconia HS) kept the Auggies in the game with an incredible eight-save effort, including several dramatic diving saves in both halves. Augsburg also had two team saves in the second half, with defenders stopping shots from reaching the net.
• In addition to Shuster, four other Auggies played the full 90 minutes -- defender

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Augsburg made its 13th appearance in the MIAC postseason playoffs since 2004, and ninth appearance in the playoffs in the last 11 full seasons.
• Augsburg's 11 victories marked its 17th double-digit win season in program history, and ninth since the 2012 season.
• The game marked the conclusion of the collegiate careers for five Auggie seniors -- Shuster, Ponce,
Megan Hensel (SR, Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS),
Rylan Lee (SR, Parker, Colo./Ponderosa HS) and
Kaitlyn Nemitz (SR, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS).
FOR THE FOES
• Kathryn Kresse scored from Cate Patterson in the 38th minute for the Knights. Dean Piper scored on a free kick in the 65th minute, and Dylan Baker scored from Kresse in the 82nd minute.
• Avery Trapp had two saves in goal for Carleton.
