HOW IT HAPPENED
• After playing to a 46-43 advantage at halftime, the Auggies maintained a narrow lead in the early minutes of the second half until the Blue Devils jumped back on top at 51-50 with 17:11 remaining in regulation. The Auggies would quickly regain the lead, pushing the advantage as high as nine at 67-58 with 12:45 to play. The Blue Devils responded once again, chipping away and retaking the lead just over five minutes later at 70-69. The final seven minutes of regulation contained seven lead changes, eventually culminating in an 83-83 tie that sent the game to overtime.
• Each team spent time with the lead in the first overtime, with UW-Stout leading by as many as three and Augsburg leading by as many as six, but a Blue Devil layup with just three seconds remaining tied the game at 95 each and forced a second overtime.
• UW-Stout opened the second overtime with a three pointer, but the Auggies responded with a 9-2 run to take a 104-100 lead. The Blue Devils cut the deficit to just two on three separate occasions, but it proved to be all they could do as the Auggies hung on for the 113-111 win.
• With 56 personal fouls in the contest – 33 on the Blue Devils and 23 on the Auggies – much of the game was decided at the free throw line. The Auggies were far more effective at the charity stripe, shooting 85.7% with 42 made free throws, a new program record, on 49 attempts, just one shy of the school record. The Blue Devils were just 15-of-29 (51.7%) at the line.
• The Auggies were also the stronger team from beyond the arc, hitting nine of their 24 attempts (37.5%) while holding the Blue Devils to just four-of-21 (19.0%). Augsburg took a balanced offensive approach, with five players in double figures and 47 points from its bench while Stout had just 13.
Will Blascziek (JR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North HS) had a career day, posting a new high of 31 points on seven-of-16 shooting to go along with six rebounds and a steal.

Isaac Rabaey (JR, Hastings, Minn./Hastings HS) set a new career high in points with 17, also tying his career mark in rebounds with nine, the most on the team.
