SAN JUAN, P.R. – The Augsburg University men's basketball team played its first of two games at the Puerto Rico Clasico on Tuesday afternoon, falling to Lancaster Bible College (Pa.) 75-59 in nonconference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The teams went back and forth trading leads in the game's opening minutes, with Lancaster Bible jumping on top at 13-12 for what proved to be the game's final lead change. The Chargers led by as many as nine in the first half, but the Auggies managed to cut the deficit to three at halftime with a score of 31-28. Augsburg pulled within one and kept the game close early in the second half, but the Chargers pulled away in the game's final 10 minutes to secure the 75-59 win.
• The Auggies were the more efficient team shooting from the field, hitting 21 of their 48 attempts (43.8%) while the Chargers went 29-of-71 (40.8%). Augsburg also held an edge from beyond the arc, going 4-for-17 (23.5%) compared to Lancaster Bible's 3-of-20 (15.0%) performance.

Isaac Rabaey (JR, Hastings, Minn./Hastings HS) was the scoring leader for the Auggies, logging 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting and adding eight rebounds, a block, and a steal.
Trent Gomez (FY, Two Harbors, Minn./Two Harbors HS) reached double figures for the second consecutive game, scoring 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting with six assists, four steals, and five rebounds.

Will Blascziek (JR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North HS) was the third and final Auggie in double figures, scoring 11 points on 4-of-10 shooting and adding eight rebounds and an assist.
Jalen Dearring (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./Hopkins HS) led the effort off the bench with six points for Augsburg.
FOR THE FOES
• Coming off the bench for the Chargers, Luke Rumbaugh led all scorers in the game with 19 points.
• Grant Sareyka also finished in double figures with 15 points.

• The Auggies will play their second and final game of the Puerto Rico Clasico tomorrow (12/20) against Albright College at 11 am CT.
