MINNEAPOLIS -- Surrendering the first 11 goals of the game, the Augsburg University women's lacrosse team was unable to rally back, but scored five goals in an 18-5 nonconference loss to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Monday afternoon at Edor Nelson Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• UW-Eau Claire scored the first 11 goals of the game, outshooting the Auggies by a 17-2 margin in the first period, before
Mackenzie Galazen (SO, Kimball, Minn./Rocori HS) put the Auggies on the scoreboard with a goal from
Rylan Lee (SR, Parker, Colo./Ponderosa HS) with 9:06 to go in the second quarter. The goal was the first of three that Galazen scored in the game.
• Galazen added a team-best seven ground balls and three caused turnovers to her scoring total, also contributing three draw controls.

Jade Wilson (FY, Waukee, Iowa/Northwest HS) scored the other two goals for the Auggies, contributing a team-best four draw controls, to go along with two caused turnovers and a ground ball.

Isabella Kohout (FY, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) had two ground balls and two draw controls, while Lee,
Andrea Estrada (FY, Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy HS) and
Kayla Courtney (JR, Maplewood, Minn./Roseville HS) had two ground balls each.Â

Nicole Schuster (FY, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) had 16 saves.
• UW-Eau Claire outshot Augsburg by a 43-15 margin, had a 15-9 draw control advantage and 29-17 ground-ball advantage. The Blugolds also took advantage of 26 Augsburg turnovers, while committing 18, and converted 13-of-18 clearing attempts, compared to 9-of-21 for Augsburg.
FOR THE FOES
• Devon Crews scored four goals and had two draw controls to lead UW-Eau Claire, while Alexie Romanelli scored three goals with five draw controls.
• Alexandria Shea had six saves in goal for the Blugolds.
