ST. PETER, Minn. – Managing just six hits in the doubleheader, the Augsburg University softball team was shut out in a pair of five-inning Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference games at Gustavus Adolphus College on Sunday.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Gustavus scored seven runs in the second inning and six runs in the third inning, ending the game after five innings due to the NCAA eight-run rule. The Gusties took advantage of six Augsburg errors, as just six of the 14 runs allowed were earned.

Torrie Rehder (SO, Goodhue, Minn./Goodhue HS) and
Katie Manecke (JR, Shoreview, Minn./Shoreview HS) had hits for Augsburg in the third inning, and
Kayla Hanson (SR, St. James, Minn./St. James HS) had a single in the fourth inning.Â
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg was limited to two hits in the second game -- singles by Rehder and Manecke in the first inning.
• The Gusties scored twice in the first inning, added four runs in the second inning and two more in the fifth to end the game early.
FOR THE FOES
• Piper Otto had two strikeouts in the pitching circle in the first game for Gustavus.
• Kayla Ruud went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI in the second game.
