Auggies compete at UW-Eau Claire Invite

TOURNAMENT RESULTS

ALTOONA, Wis. -- With four golfers shooting scores of 180 or better, the Augsburg University women's golf team finished in ninth place at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Georgianni Blugold Invitational, held on Saturday and Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Four of the five Auggies finished with scores of 180 or better, with five of the 10 individual rounds shot in the 80s. The Auggies were paced by Avery Sawchuk (SR, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS), who finished in a tie for 22nd in the 66-player field with a 171 (80-91) total.
• Augsburg finished in ninth place in the 10-school, 11-team tournament with a two-day total of 701 (343-358), the eighth-best 36-hole team score in program history.
Elizabeth Fagerlind (JR, Kasson, Minn./Kasson-Mantorville HS) finished in a tie for 30th place with a 176 (91-95) score, and Maren Aikens (JR, Rochester, Minn./John Marshall HS) finished in a tie for 36th place with a 178 (89-89) total.
Emma Larsen (FY, Milaca, Minn./Milaca HS) shot 180 (83-97), and Claire Jenkins Coffman (SR, Mount Pleasant, Wis./The Prairie School) set a career-best 36-hole score for the second straight week with a 192 (99-93) total.
