Auggies shine at Buena Vista Invite

TOURNAMENT RESULTS

STORM LAKE, Iowa -- With two golfers finishing in the top 10 individually, the Augsburg University women's golf team had one of its best tournament performances in school history, finishing fourth at the Buena Vista University Invitational, held on Saturday and Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• As a team, Augsburg finished fourth in the 10-team field with a 36-hole total of 687 (347-340), the fifth-best 36-hole total in school history.
Avery Sawchuk (SR, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) finished in second place in the 61-golfer field with a 159 (80-79) total, a stroke off her career-best 36-hole score and tied for the third-best 36-hole score in school history. Her second-round 79 is the lowest score for any Auggie this season, and tied for the 11th-best single-round score in school history. Her second-place individual finish is a career-best, and her third career top-10 finish.
Elizabeth Fagerlind (JR, Kasson, Minn./Kasson-Mantorville HS) finished in ninth place, her third career top-10 finish, shooting a two-day total of 167 (84-83). 
Maren Aikens (JR, Rochester, Minn./John Marshall HS) shot a season-best 176 (86-90) to tie for 21st place.
Emma Larsen (FY, Milaca, Minn./Milaca HS) shot 186 (98-88), and Claire Jenkins Coffman (SR, Mount Pleasant, Wis./The Prairie School) set a career-best 36-hole score for the third week in a row, shooting 191 (97-94).
