Auggies open season at Saint Benedict Invite

TOURNAMENT RESULTS

SARTELL, Minn. -- The Augsburg University women's golf team opened its 2023-24 season with one of the best 36-hole performances in program history, finishing 10th at the College of Saint Benedict Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg finished in 10th place in the 11-school, 14-team tournament with a two-day total of 691 (333-358), the sixth-best 36-hole team score in program history. Augsburg's first-round 333 is the fourth-best single-round team score in program history.
• Avery Sawchuk (SR, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) led the Auggies with a 167 (82-85), tying for 33rd place in the 77-player individual field. Elizabeth Fagerlind (JR, Kasson, Minn./Kasson-Mantorville HS) shot 168 (80-88) to tie for 37th place, with her first-round 80 tying her career-best single-round score.
• Emma Larsen (FY, Milaca, Minn./Milaca HS) made her college debut with a 175 (83-92) total, tying for 50th place. Maren Aikens (JR, Rochester, Minn./John Marshall HS) finished with a 181 (88-93) total, tying for 6rd place.
• Claire Jenkins Coffman (SR, Mount Pleasant, Wis./The Prairie School) set a career-best 36-hole score of 193 (88-105) to place 71st, with her first-round 88 also a career-best single-round score.
