HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg outshot UW-Superior, last season's Upper Midwest Athletic Conference regular-season and playoff champions and an NCAA Division III national tournament participant, by a 17-5 advantage in the game.
• Hensel scored her first goal in the 16th minute, putting home a one-timer in front off a right-wing feed by Phoebe Alva Rosa (SO, Jackson, Wyo./Jackson Hole HS), with Annika Rudolph (JR, Richfield, Minn./Richfield HS) getting the second assist. Her second goal came in the 32nd minute, taking a perfect feed from Jayla Ponce (SR, Kuna, Idaho/Kuna HS), popping the ball over the goalkeeper's head and pouncing on the rebound.
• The Auggies struck again just 22 seconds before halftime, as Abby Rosebur (SO, South St. Paul, Minn./South St. Paul HS) scored her first collegiate goal, taking a pass from Alva Rosa and scoring on an arcing shot from 30 yards out on the right wing.
• Clara Fesemyer (JR, Madison, Wis./Madison East HS) capped the scoring for the Auggies with a goal in the 77th minute. Alva Rosa slid a pass through the defense, meeting a streaking Fesemeyer in the center of the 18-yard box, and Fesemeyer put a left-footed shot to the top left corner.
• Iz Shuster (SR, Waconia, Minn./Waconia HS) claimed her fifth career shutout in goal for Augsburg, stopping all three shots on-goal she faced.
