HOW IT HAPPENED
• After Augsburg took a 10-7 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Auggies pushed the lead as high as six in the second quarter, but the Oles cut the deficit back to three at 21-18 at halftime.
• The Oles briefly captured the lead early in the third quarter, but the Auggies regained control and led by two at the final quarter break. The Auggies controlled the game's final frame, leading by as many as nine on the way to securing the eight-point victory.
• The Auggies outshot the Oles 34.0% (17-of-50) to 32.6% (14-of-43) and dominated in the lane, holding a 28-12 advantage in the painted area. Turnovers also played a key role in the contest with Augsburg committing 16 to St. Olaf's 27. That lopsided margin led to a decisive 29-12 edge in points off turnovers for Augsburg.
