ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Augsburg University volleyball team clinched a spot in the six-team Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference postseason playoffs on Saturday afternoon, sweeping Macalester College in three sets.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Auggies hit just .085 in the match, but limited Macalester to a negative-.031 attacking night. Augsburg also claimed eight team blocks and six service aces in the victory.

Bri Van Well (SR, Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) claimed her sixth kill-dig double-double of the season, and third in her last five matches, with 14 kills, 12 digs, a block assist and three service aces, to lead Augsburg.

Madison Gully (SR, Oak Grove, Minn./St. Francis HS) had eight kills and two block assists,
Ava Carlson (FY, Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet HS) had six kills, 17 digs, two service aces and two block assists, and
Elizabeth Oster (SO, Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji HS) had five kills and four block assists.

GK LeMonds (SR, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) claimed four blocks (one solo), to go along with three kills, and
Taylor Hoehns (JR, Cedar Falls, Idaho/Dike-New Hartford HS) had four kills and two block assists.

Jovial King (SO, Caledonia, Minn./Caledonia HS) had 21 assists and 10 digs for her second assist-dig double-double of the year, while
Angel Vo (SR, Blaine, Minn./Mounds View HS) claimed her 13th double-double with 10 assists and 12 digs.
Torrie Rehder (SR, Goodhue, Minn./Goodhue HS) had 15 digs and eight assists.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Augsburg will make its 11th appearance in the MIAC postseason playoffs since 2009, and seventh in the last eight full seasons.
• Augsburg has now claimed 15 or more overall victories in every full (non-COVID) season since 2008.
FOR THE FOES
• Ella Cohen-Richie had seven kills to lead Macalester.
• Torrance Williams collected 18 assists, and Stephanie Geber had seven blocks (two solo).
