Auggie season ends with playoff loss to Oles

NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- A goal off a corner kick in the 38th minute lifted host St. Olaf College to a 1-0 victory over Augsburg University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference postseason playoff quarterfinal game on Monday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Katie Beaudry scored on a header off a corner kick by Cat Duffy-Shaw in the 38th minute for St. Olaf.
• The two teams had five shots each in the first half, but St. Olaf controlled possession throughout the second half, outshooting the Auggies by a 10-2 margin. Augsburg had four shots on-goal to St. Olaf's three. The Oles controlled possession by a 62-to-38-percent margin in the game and had 10 corner kicks to Augsburg's one.
• Jayla Ponce (SR, Kuna, Idaho/Kuna HS) had three shots in the game for the Auggies.
