ST. PAUL, Minn. – Despite all three seniors reaching double figures in scoring in their final collegiate appearances, the Augsburg University women's basketball team fell to Macalester College 66-60 on Saturday afternoon in its season finale.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Auggies held a 12-11 edge following the first quarter, but the Scots grabbed the lead early in the second quarter and used a 23-10 scoring advantage to take a 34-22 lead at halftime.
• After Augsburg managed to outscore the Scots 14-9 in the third quarter, Macalester held a 43-36 lead at the final quarter break. The Auggies continued to chip away at the deficit throughout the second half, eventually making it a one-point game at 49-48 with 6:01 to play. The Scots regained control from that point, pushing their lead back to as many as nine points on the way to the win.
• The Auggies had more success protecting the basketball, winning the turnover battle 7-16 and turning that into an 18-10 advantage in points off turnovers.
• Augsburg's trio of seniors shined in their final collegiate games, with
Kalena Myers (SR, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) leading all scorers with 23 points, four steals, and three assists on 7-of-15 shooting and 6-of-11 from beyond the arc. Her six made three-point baskets were the most in her career, and just one shy of the Augsburg school record. Myers finishes her career with 213 steals, the third-most in program history.

Anja Smith (SR, Kewaskum, Wis./Saint Mary's Springs HS) logged 21 points and nine rebounds on 9-of-18 shooting, bringing her career scoring total to 993 points including two seasons spent at Grand Valley State.

Katie Manecke (SR, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) reached double figures for the fifth time in her senior campaign, scoring 10 points and adding three rebounds and an assist.
