MINNEAPOLIS – With eight different players figuring in the scoring, the Augsburg University men's hockey team moved into a tie for first place in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference standings with a 4-3 victory over Hamline University on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Four different Auggies scored goals in the victory, as Augsburg moved into a first-place tie in the MIAC standings with Bethel (15-5-3 overall, 9-3-2 MIAC), which is idle this weekend.

Kyler Yeo (SR, Woodbury, Minn./Hill-Murray HS) gave the Auggies a 1-0 lead at the 8:04 mark of the first period, completing a 3-on-2 break with a shot to an open net from the left side, off a pass across the slot from
Cade Stibbe (SO, Fargo, N.D./Fargo Davies HS).
Gunnar Williams (FY, Elgin, Ill./University of Nebraska HS) had the second assist on the goal.
• The Pipers tied the game early in the second period, but Augsburg took the lead back with a pair of goals.
Nick Catalano (SO, Pewaukee, Wis./Arrowhead HS) scored his eighth goal of the campaign on a rebound off a
Landon Parker (FY, East Grand Forks, Minn./East Grand Forks HS) shot at the 16:24 mark of the second period, and
Daniel Chladek (SR, Anaheim, Calif./Canyon HS) scored his seventh goal of the year at the 9:53 mark of the third period, scoring in front off a centering pass from behind the net by
Fritz Belisle (SR, Red Wing, Minn./Red Wing HS), with Parker getting the second assist.
• Hamline cut the lead to 3-2 with a goal at the 13:14 mark, but Augsburg got a two-goal lead back 1:43 later. Center
Tommy Carls (SR, Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial HS) broke his stick on a faceoff draw, retrieved a replacement off the bench and scored 14 seconds after the draw on a wraparound shot, assisted by Stibbe.
• Augsburg was outshot for the seventh straight game, this time by a 35-24 margin, but Auggie goalie
Samuel Vyletelka (JR, Zilina, Slovakia/Grammar School of St. Francis of Assisi) recorded his 16th game with 30 or more saves this season, with a 32-save effort.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Playing in a league-best 1,281 minutes in goal, Vyletelka leads the MIAC with a 31.55 saves per-game average, with a league-best 694 saves. He entered the weekend ranked fourth among NCAA Division III goalies nationally in total saves.
FOR THE FOES
• Kyle Mortenson scored a goal and added an assist for the Pipers, with Will Matzke and Ryan Brandt adding goals.
• Maximillian Haselbacher had 20 saves in goal for Hamline.
