ST. PAUL, Minn. – Behind a pair of goals from Emily Cronkhite (JR, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS), the Augsburg University women's hockey team moved into second place in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference standings, with a 4-2 victory over No. 15-ranked Hamline University on Friday evening.

THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Augsburg 4, Hamline 2
LOCATION: TRIA Rink, St. Paul, Minn.
RECORDS: Augsburg 16-6-0 overall (12-3-0 MIAC), Hamline 16-6-0 overall (11-4-0 MIAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Cronkhite claimed her second multi-goal game of the season and extended her consecutive-game point streak to nine straight games, scoring Augsburg's first two goals of the game. She opened the scoring with a goal at the 13:23 mark of the first period, skating around the net and putting home a wrist shot from the left side, following a dump into the zone by Kiley Wahlin (JR, Blaine, Minn./Totino-Grace HS).
• Cronkhite scored her MIAC-leading third shorthanded goal of the season at the 7:09 mark of the second period, assisted by Nora Stepan (SO, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS). Stepan led a 2-on-1 shorthanded break, and after the Hamline goalie moved forward to block Stepan, she dove to slide the puck across to Cronkhite, who scored on an open net for her team-leading 14th goal of the season.
• The Pipers tied the game at 2-2 late in the second period, but Augsburg took the lead back with a pair of third-period goals. Tenley Stewart (SO, Esko, Minn./Esko HS) gave the Auggies the lead on a blast from the point, off a steal by Sydney Rydel (SR, Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) at the 1:01 mark, and Claire Jenkins Coffman (SR, Mount Pleasant, Wis./The Prairie School) capped the scoring with her fourth goal of the season at the 11:05 mark, scoring off of a scrum in front from Kennedy Stein (SR, Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest HS).
• Augsburg outshot Hamline by a 31-29 margin, with Chloe Stockinger (SR, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) picking up the win for the Auggies in goal, claiming 27 saves.
• Stewart had four blocked shots in the game, and Rydel claimed 12 faceoff wins in 16 opportunities.
