CLERMONT, Fla. -- The Augsburg University softball team finished its trip to THE Spring Games in Florida on Thursday, topping Salem State University 5-1 and falling 7-3 to Hood College.

SALEM STATE GAME HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg pounded out a season-high 13 hits in the victory, including doubles by
Olivia Funk (JR, Lewiston, Minn./Lewiston-Altura HS),
Lola Pilon (FY, St. Paul, Minn./Mounds Park Academy HS) and
Olivia Hennager (SO, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley HS).
• In the first inning, Funk hit a double to drive in
Katie Manecke (SR, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS), and Hennager hit a two-run double to drive in Funk and Pilon.
• The Auggies plated two more runs in the third inning, as Pilon doubled and scored on an RBI single by Hennager, and
Jaime Olson (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) hit a single to plate
Zoie Johnson (JR, Carlton, Minn./Esko HS).

Libby Moore (SR, Springville, Iowa/Springville HS) struck out two against a walk and one hit in four scoreless innings to pick up the pitching win, with
Morgann Paaske (JR, Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake Central HS) pitching three innings of hitless relief, with three strikeouts, to claim the save.
• Pilon, Johnson and Hennager had two hits each for the Auggies in the win.
HOOD GAME HIGHLIGHTS
• Hood built a 5-1 lead after four innings to claim the victory, limiting the Auggies to seven hits.
• Johnson led off the second inning with a double, and scored on a double by Paaske to put the Auggies on the scoreboard.
• A two-out, two-run single by Pilon drove in
Jayden Evenson (SO, Mosinee, Wis./Mosinee HS) and Manecke in the fifth inning. Evenson had two hits for the Auggies in the game.
• Paaske pitched three innings for the Auggies, with
Olivia O'Connor (SR, White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) striking out one in four innings of relief.
FOR THE FOES
• Payton Jeffers had the lone hit in the game for Salem State, a double.
• Jocelyn Pfleiger went 3-for-5 with an RBI for Hood. Mallorie Hetzel scored two runs.

• Now 13-3 overall, Augsburg hosts North Central (Minn.) in a doubleheader next Thursday (3/21) at 4 p.m. at Edor Nelson Field.
