WINONA, Minn. -- The Augsburg University softball team surrendered 18 hits to host Saint Mary's University, dropping a pair of Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference softball games, 7-4 and 8-0 (6 innings), on Saturday afternoon.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Saint Mary's built a 6-0 lead after two innings, before Augsburg rallied with two runs in both the third and fifth innings. The Auggies could get no closer, as they were retired in order in the sixth and seventh innings.
• In the third,
Jaime Olson (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) and
Libby Moore (SR, Springville, Iowa/Springville HS) both reachd base on singles, and both scored following a throwing error on a sacrifice by
Jayden Evenson (SO, Mosinee, Wis./Mosinee HS).
• With two outs in the fifth,
Torrie Rehder (JR, Goodhue, Minn./Goodhue HS) singled and
Katie Manecke (SR, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) walked, and the two came across on RBI singles by
Lola Pilon (FY, St. Paul, Minn./Mounds Park Academy HS) and
Zoie Johnson (JR, Carlton, Minn./Esko HS). Johnson had two hit in the game for the Auggies.

Olivia O'Connor (SR, White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) pitched the first 1.2 innings for the Auggies, with Moore pitching 4.1 innings of relief.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg was limited to three hits in the second game, shortened to six innings due to the NCAA eight-run rule. Rehder singled to lead off the first inning,
Olivia Hennager (SO, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley HS) had a single in the fourth inning and Pilon singled in the sixth.

Morgann Paaske (JR, Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake Central HS) pitched five innings, striking out three against three walks and seven hits. Three of the runs charged to Paaske were unearned, as the Auggies committed four errors in the game.
FOR THE FOES
• Makayla Steffes went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI in the first game, hitting a double and triple while stealing two bases.
• Peyton Berg went 3-for-4 with a run scored an four RBI in the second game, hitting a three-run homer and a double. Heather Nordlund hit a two-run double.
