MINNEAPOLIS – The Augsburg University baseball team wrapped up Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play for the season on Saturday evening, dropping a pair of games to Concordia-College Moorhead at Parade Stadium.

GAME ONE: CONCORDIA 12, AUGSBURG 1
• The Cobbers jumped out to an early lead in game one, scoring three runs in the top of the first. Augsburg got on the board in the bottom of the second when
Andruw Vela (FY, St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park HS) hit an RBI single up the middle to score
Drew Jenkins (SO, Farmington, Minn./Randolph HS).
• After Concordia added a run in the third and five more in the fifth to take a 9-1 lead, Vela answered for the Auggies with a solo home run to right field in the fifth to make it 9-2.
Lance Nayman (SR, St. Paul, Minn./Central HS) provided Augsburg with its third and final run with an RBI that scored
Josh Udelhofen (JR, Janesville, Minn./Janesville Craig HS) later in the inning.
• The Cobbers would go on to add three more runs in the seventh to complete the 12-3 victory.

Austin Lang (SO, Anoka, Minn./Anoka HS) was charged with the loss, giving up five hits and seven earned runs with two strikeouts in 4.11 innings of work.
• Vela finished the game 2-for-2 at the plate with a home run, two RBI, and a run scored.
GAME TWO: CONCORDIA 13, AUGSBURG 6
• The Cobbers grabbed an early lead again with a pair of runs in the first, but the Auggies cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the inning when
Stanley Regguinti (SO, St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park HS) came around to score on a double play.
• Augsburg would go on to take its first lead of the day with a four-run second inning with runs scoring off the bats of Vela, Udelhofen, and
Ty Gage (SR, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS).
• After Concordia tied the game at 5-5 with three runs in the fourth, Gage restored the Augsburg lead with an RBI single up the middle that plated Vela.
• The Cobbers put together a massive ninth inning, scoring eight runs to complete the doubleheader sweep.

Myer Schmitz (JR, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) was strong in his role as Augsburg's game two starter, allowing eight hits and just three earned runs with nine strikeouts against a single walk in 7.2 innings of work.
• Gage, Lang, and Jenkins each had multi-hit games in game two with Gage leading the way with three RBI.
FOR THE FOES
• Cobber shortstop Thomas Horan finished the day a combined 7-for-9 at the plate with a double, five RBI, and three runs scored.
