MINNEAPOLIS -- With a split of a season-ending Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader with Hamline University on Saturday afternoon, the Augsburg University softball team tied its single-season record for victories, finishing the year 26-14 overall with a 7-6, eight-inning win in the first game and 3-0 loss in the second game.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Trailing 6-2 in the middle of the fourth inning, Augsburg rallied with four runs to tie the game and force extra innings, and after relief pitcher
Olivia O'Connor (SR, White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) retired the side in order in the top of the eighth, the Auggies scored the game-winning run with the international tiebreaker in the bottom of the eighth. With pinch-runner
Megan Gissler (FY, Louisville, Neb./Louisville HS) placed on second,
Morgann Paaske (JR, Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake Central HS) was intentionally walked, and
Jaime Olson (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) reached base on an errant throw on a sacrifice-bunt attempt, as Gissler scored from second.

Lola Pilon (FY, St. Paul, Minn./Mounds Park Academy HS) put the Auggies on the board in the bottom of the first inning, blasting a two-run home run that glanced off the scoreboard in deep center field, her third round-tripper of the season.
• The Auggie comeback began in the bottom of the fourth, as Paaske matched Pilon for the team's lead in home runs with three, sending a two-run shot over the right field fence.
• In the sixth, Paaske singled and moved to second on a single by Olson. Pinch-hitter
Olivia Dynneson (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) drove Paaske home with a single to right.
• Pilon hit a one-out double to center in the bottom of the seventh, and pinch-runner
Teron Ormond-Miller (FY, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS) came home on a single to right by
Olivia Hennager (SO, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley HS) to tie the game at 6-6.
• O'Connor relieved Auggie starting pitcher
Libby Moore (SR, Springville, Iowa/Springville HS) and pitched five innings to earn the victory, improving to a career-best 10-6 on the season with her 25th collegiate victory. She struck out two against no walks and four hits, allowing one run. Starter Moore struck out two against two walks and five hits in three innings of work.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg was limited to just six hits, all singles, against Hamline pitcher Natalee Boelk in the second game. Boelk had two strikeouts against two walks. Pilon had two hits for the Auggies, with Paaske, Olson, Moore and
Jayden Evenson (SO, Mosinee, Wis./Mosinee HS) also collecting hits in the game. The Auggies stranded seven runners on-base in the game.
• Hamline scored all three of its runs in the second inning against Auggie starting pitcher Paaske. Paaske had three strikeouts against one walk and seven hits in her 12th complete-game pitching effort of the season.
FOR THE FOES
• Jenna Rubbelke, Madisen Borek and Mikenna Johnson had two hits each for Hamline in the first game. Borek and Abigail Chamernick hit home runs for the Pipers.
• Mikenna Johnson went 3-for-3 in the second game, hitting a two-run double in the second inning.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• With 26 victories, Augsburg tied its single-season school record for wins, tying the Auggie squad that went 26-10 overall and 13-1 to win the MIAC title in the 1983 season.
• Under head coach
Melissa Lee, Augsburg has now recorded 20-plus wins for the second year in a row, and the fourth time in her eight-season tenure. It's the 17th time Augsburg has recorded 20-plus victories since the 1980 season.
• Saturday's doubleheader marked the final collegiate contests for four Auggie seniors --
