ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Augsburg University baseball team closed out the 2024 campaign on a positive note, topping the University of Northwestern-St. Paul 13-3 in eight innings on Monday evening at Reynolds Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• After the Eagles opened the first inning with a run to take a 1-0 lead, the Auggie bats came alive with six straight runs over the next four innings.
Stanley Regguinti (SO, St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park HS) and
Drew Jenkins (SO, Farmington, Minn./Randolph HS) had two RBI each during the stretch while
Josh Udelhofen (JR, Janesville, Wis./Janesville Craig HS) and
Ty Gage (SR, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) each had one.
• The teams traded runs with Northwestern adding a run in the bottom of the fifth before the Auggies responded with a run scoring off the bat of
Austin Lang (SO, Anoka, Minn./Anoka HS) in the sixth. Another Eagles run in the sixth made it 7-3 in favor of Augsburg.
• Augsburg dominated the late innings, scoring two in the seventh and four in the eighth while holding the Eagles scoreless to finish the game in eight innings via the 10-run mercy rule.
• The Auggie offense had one of its strongest outings of the season, logging 16 hits in the ballgame, ranking behind only the 21-hit eruption against Crown on March 13. Regguinti and Gage each finished the day 3-for-5 with two RBI at the top of Augsburg's lineup while Udelhofen and Jenkins were each 2-for-4 with three RBI and a double. Jenkins and Reggeuniti also each had a triple for the Auggies.

Jake Pittelkow (SO, Roseville, Minn./Simley HS) earned his third win of the season as Augsburg's starter, pitching six innings and allowing six hits and three runs with five strikeouts to just two walks.
Owen Bernards (SR, St. Paul, Minn./Central HS) pitched a scoreless seventh inning while
Cam Fischer (SR, Becker, Minn./Becker HS) finished the game with a scoreless eighth inning.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• The contest marked the final collegiate games for six Auggie seniors who were honored on Saturday for senior day –
Owen Bernards,
Cam Fischer,
Ty Gage,
Lance Nayman,
Carter Peterson, and
Joe Peterson.

• Mark Bligh had the only multi-hit game for the Eagles, going 2-for-2 with an RBI.
