TOURNAMENT RESULTS

STORM LAKE, Iowa -- Avery Sawchuk (SR, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) finished in third place with a 160 total, leading the Augsburg University women's golf team to a seventh-place finish at the Buena Vista University Invitational, held on Saturday and Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Sawchuk placed third in the 64-golfer field with a 36-hole total of 160 (79-81), tied for the 11th-best 36-hole score in school history. She now has eight of the 16 best 36-hole scores in program history.
• Elizabeth Fagerlind (SR, Kasson, Minn./Kasson-Mantorville HS) also had a top-10 finish for the Auggies, tying for ninth place with a 165 (80-85) score.
• As a team, Augsburg finished in seventh place in the 10-school, 11-team tournament with a two-day total of 708 (348-360).
• Maren Aikens (SR, Rochester, Minn./John Marshall HS) finished in a tie for 37th place with a 179 (89-90) score, and Emma Larsen (SO, Milaca, Minn./Milaca HS) tied for 57th with a 204 (100-104) finish.

• Augsburg finishes the fall half of the 2024-25 season at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships, to be held next Saturday to Monday (9/28-30) at the St. Cloud (Minn.) Country Club.
