MINNEAPOLIS – Claiming its sixth shutout victory in its eighth win of the season, the No. 8-ranked Augsburg University women's hockey team blanked Aurora University 3-0 in a nonconference contest on Friday evening at Ed Saugestad Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg, ranked No. 8 in both the latest USCHO.com and D-III Hockey News Division III national polls, dominated play throughout, outshooting Aurora by a 42-19 margin to claim its sixth shutout victory of the season. Just 11 games into the season, Augsburg's six shutouts are already tied for the fifth-most in a single season in school history; the single-season school record is eight shutouts, set in the 2002-03, 2016-17 and 2018-19 seasons. Augsburg had six shutouts last season.
• After a scoreless first period, Augsburg scored twice in the second period, outshooting the Spartans by an 18-2 margin in the frame.
Livia Brehm (JR, Detroit Lakes, Minn./Stillwater HS) snapped a short-side shot in the slot off feeds from
Mei Diesing (FY, Arlington Heights, Minn./TPH Academy Chicago) and
Kate Haug (JR, Roseville, Minn./Roseville HS) at the 3:18 mark, and
Kiley Wahlin (SR, Blaine, Minn./Totino-Grace HS) stopped an Aurora clearing attempt at the right point, walked in and fired a low wrister for her first goal of the year.

Molly Grundhoffer (SO, Cleveland, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) scored a power-play goal 51 seconds into the third period, connecting on a one-timer on a pass across the slot by
Grace Bonnell (SO, Madison, Wis./Memorial HS), with
Ella Olson (SO, Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove HS) getting the second assist.
• Fourteen different Auggies had shots on-goal in the game, with Olson,
Nora Stepan (JR, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS) and
Jenna Allen (FY, Minnetonka, Minn./Holy Family Catholic HS) getting five shots each.

Marissa Paaske (JR, Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake Central HS) recorded her third shutout win of the season in goal with 19 saves.
FOR THE FOES
• Zoie Campbell had 39 saves in goal for Aurora.
