MINNEAPOLIS -- Shooting just 35.9 percent from the field in the second half, the Augsburg University men's basketball team dropped a 73-64 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest to Saint Mary's University on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Saint Mary's shot 52.6 percent (30-of-57) from the field in the game, while the Auggies shot 40.3 percent (27-of-67) from the field. The Auggies were limited to just 35.9 percent (14-of-39) in the second half, including 14.3 percent (2-of-14) from three-point range. The Cardinals were able to pull away from the Auggies in the second half, building a 33-30 halftime lead to as many as 15 points late in the game.

Andy Stafford (SR, Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins HS) led the way for the Auggies, scoring 18 points with five rebounds and two assists.
Mario Adams (SO, Eagan, Minn./Eastview HS) scored 14 points with eight rebounds, and

• Four Cardinals scored in double figures, led by Jabari Sawyer, who scored 21 points with five rebounds, four steals and two assists. Breyton Buysman scored 14 points with six rebounds and three blocked shots.
• Khai Branham scored 12 points with five rebounds, and Sawyer Markham scored 11 points with three rebounds, two assists and two blocks.
