Auggies rally for 5-set win over Pipers

MINNEAPOLIS – Taliah Triggs (SO, Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS) and Taylor Hoehns (SR, Cedar Falls, Iowa/Dike-New Hartford HS) had 13 kills each to lead Augsburg University, as the Auggies rallied from a 2-1 deficit for a five-set Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory over Hamline University on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg opened with a 29-27 first-set victory, but dropped the second and third sets on .033 and .062 hitting, respectively. The Auggies hit .450 (10 kills, one error in 20 attacks) in a 25-11 win in the fourth set, and clinched the win with a 15-12 triumph in the final set.
• Triggs collected her second kill-dig double-double in an Augsburg uniform, with 13 kills on .231 hitting, adding 16 digs, two blocks (one solo) and two service aces. Hoehns had 13 kills on .346 hitting, adding a block assist. 
Marley Mitchell (SO, Nevis, Minn./Nevis HS) had 11 kills with two block assists.
• Jovial King (SO, Caledonia, Minn./Caledonia HS) claimed 39 assists with seven digs, six kills and a block assist.
Lola Pilon (JR, Farmington, Minn./Mounds Park Academy HS) had four service aces and eight digs.
• Libero Maggie Lile (JR, Spring Grove, Minn./Spring Grove HS) had 18 digs.

FOR THE FOES
• Lexi Helmin had 10 kills with seven block assists for Hamline.
• Sophia Johnson and Grace Bathurst had 13 kills and two block assists each.
