MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University women's wrestling team opened its 2025-26 season with a 25-24, criteria victory over Bismarck State College on Saturday morning at Si Melby Hall.

• The teams ended the dual meet in a 24-24 tie, and with both teams winning five bouts, the team decision went to the second criteria, with Augsburg having a pin and three forfeits, compared to Bismarck State claiming two pins and one forfeit.

Paige Haaf (SO, St. Croix Falls, Wis./St. Croix Falls HS), a transfer from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, earned her first victory in an Augsburg singlet with a 1:47 pin of Bismarck State's Adrian Stiedler at 138 pounds.

Kelsey Cruz Rojas (SO, Burnsville, Minn./Bloomington Kennedy HS) improved to 13-6 in her collegiate career with her fourth technical fall win, a 12-2, 6:00 triumph over Jessica Waln.

Gisele Gallegos (SO, South St. Paul, Minn./South St. Paul HS) scored an 11-0 technical fall win in an exhibition match at 124 pounds.

Katie Whelan (SO, Harmony, Minn./Fillmore Central HS) and
Shaylee Olson (FY, Oakdale, Minn./Simley HS) also gained exhibition wins against teammates at the end of the match.
